Grammar Rules & Patterns

The Masculine Match Rule (-O) Sustantivo masculino (-o) + Adjetivo masculino (-o) If your noun is masculine (often ending in -o), the adjective that describes it must also end in -o. This is a perfect match! The Feminine Match Rule (-A) Sustantivo femenino (-a) + Adjetivo femenino (-a) If your noun is feminine (often ending in -a), you must change the adjective's ending to -a to make a match. The 'Es' Sentence Formula [Sustantivo] + es + [Adjetivo] To make a simple sentence describing something, you say the noun, then 'es' (which means 'is'), then the matching adjective.
