Grammar Rules & Patterns
The -O to -A Rule
If an adjective ends in -o, it is used for masculine nouns. To use it with a feminine noun, you must change the -o to an -a.
This is the most common rule for matching adjectives. Always check if your noun is masculine or feminine first. If it's feminine, change that '-o' to an '-a'!
The -E Rule (The 'Easy' Rule)
If an adjective ends in -e, it does NOT change. It stays the same for both masculine and feminine nouns.
This rule is easy to remember! If you see an adjective ending in '-e', like 'verde' (green), you don't have to do anything to it. It matches with everyone.
