What & Why

In games like 'Follow the Leader', one person is the leader and everyone else copies their actions. It's a super fun way to move our bodies! Why do we need rules? Rules help make sure the game is fair for everyone and, most importantly, they keep us all safe while we play.

Example 1 — Simon Says

This is a listening game! The leader gives a command, but you only do it if they say 'Simon says' first.Step 1: The leader says, 'Simon says touch your nose.' Everyone should touch their nose.Step 2: The leader then says, 'Wave your hands!' Uh oh! Did they say 'Simon says'? No! So, you should stand perfectly still.Step 3: If you move when they don't say 'Simon says,' you're out for that round. But don't worry, you can play again next time!

Example 2 — Red Light, Green Light

This game is all about stopping and going!Step 1: One person is the 'stoplight' and stands with their back to everyone else.Step 2: When the stoplight yells 'Green Light!', everyone can run towards them.Step 3: When the stoplight yells 'Red Light!', they turn around quickly. Everyone must freeze like a statue! If the stoplight sees you moving, you have to go back to the starting line.
