Telling Time on the Hour Es la una. (It's one o'clock.) Son las + [number from 2-12]. (It's... o'clock.) Use 'Es la una' ONLY for one o'clock because 'una' is singular. For all other hours, use 'Son las' because the hours are plural (two, three, four, etc.). Asking and Answering 'What do you want to eat?' Question: ¿Qué quieres comer? Answer: (Yo) quiero + [food item]. To ask what someone wants to eat, use the question '¿Qué quieres comer?'. To answer, start with 'Quiero' (I want) and then say the name of the food.
