Grammar Rules & Patterns
The Question Formula
¿A qué hora + es + [the event]?
To ask when something happens, always start with '¿A qué hora', add 'es', and then name the event.
The Answer Formula
[The event] + es + a la(s) + [the time].
To answer, you can start with the event, add 'es', and then use 'a la' or 'a las' followed by the number for the time.
The 'A la una' Rule
Use 'a la una' ONLY for one o'clock.
One o'clock is special and singular. Always use 'a la una' for 1:00. For all other hours (2, 3, 4, etc.), you must use the plural 'a las'.
