Ready, Set, Warm Up!
Before you start, get your body ready for action! A good warm-up, like a few minutes of light jogging or jumping jacks, wakes up your muscles and helps you play safely. It gets your heart pumping and your body ready to move.

The Powerful Pivot
A pivot is a key move in basketball. When you have the ball but aren't dribbling, you must keep one foot planted on the ground. This is your 'pivot foot'. You can move your other foot all around to turn, protect the ball, and look for a teammate to pass to.

Dribble with Your Head Up
Dribbling is bouncing the ball, but the real trick is to do it without looking down. Practice keeping your head up while you dribble. This lets you see everything happening on the court, which is a skill called 'court sense'.
