Hockey is a fast and fun sport that builds amazing skills! Whether you're on ice, pavement, or in your living room, you can practice the basics. First, let's warm up with some gentle leg swings and arm circles to get your body ready to move.

Finding Your Edges
On a skate, the 'edges' are the two sharp sides of the metal blade. Players use the inside edge and outside edge to turn, push, and stop. To practice this feeling off-ice, stand on one foot and gently lean your foot to the inside and then the outside to feel how your weight shifts for control.

Balance is Your Superpower
Good balance starts with a strong athletic stance. Bend your knees, keep your feet about shoulder-width apart, and lower your body like you're about to sit in a chair. This low center of gravity makes you much more stable! For safety, always keep your knees bent to stay balanced and ready to move.
