What & Why

Sleep is like charging a battery for your body and brain. When you sleep, your body gets busy growing stronger, fixing any little bumps or scrapes, and fighting off germs.Your brain also uses this time to sort through everything you learned during the day, like a librarian organizing books. This helps you remember things for a test, solve problems, and come up with creative ideas!

Example 1 — The Bedtime Routine Builder

A bedtime routine is a set of things you do in the same order every night before you go to sleep. It tells your body, 'Hey, it's time to get ready for rest!' Here's how to build one:Pick a Bedtime: Choose a time that lets you get 9-11 hours of sleep.Set a 'Winding Down' Alarm: Have an alarm go off 30 minutes before your bedtime. This is your signal to start your routine.List Your Steps: What will you do? Maybe: put on pajamas, brush your teeth, and read a chapter of a book.Stick to It: Try to do your routine at the same time every night, even on weekends.
