What & Why
Today we are learning two new ways to move: skipping and galloping!Skipping is a bouncy move where you take a step and then a little hop on the same foot (step-hop, step-hop).Galloping is a forward sliding move where one foot leads and the other foot follows behind (step-together, step-together), just like a horse!Learning these moves helps our bodies get better at balancing and coordinating, and it makes playing games even more fun.

Example 1 — Skipping Stones
Imagine you are a flat stone skipping across a calm lake. You're light and bouncy!Step 1: Start by marching in place to feel the rhythm. Lift your knees high.Step 2: Now, take one step forward.Step 3: Right after your foot lands, do a tiny hop on that same foot.Step 4: Now do it with the other foot! Step... and hop!Practice: Try saying "step-hop, step-hop" out loud as you go. Swing your arms to help you balance.

Example 2 — Galloping Horses
Pretend you are a horse in a big, open field. It's time to gallop!Step 1: Choose one foot to be your 'leader'. Let's pick your right foot.Step 2: Take a big step forward with your leader (right) foot.Step 3: Now, slide your back (left) foot up to meet your leader foot. Don't let it pass!Step 4: Repeat! Step with the leader, slide with the follower.Practice: Say "step-together, step-together" as you move. Try leading with your other foot, too!
