Catching means using your hands to stop something that is moving through the air. It's a great skill for playing games with a ball, a beanbag, or a fun, floaty scarf! Learning to catch helps your eyes and hands practice working together.

Example 1 — The Scarf Drop
Let's start by catching the scarf all by yourself!Hold one corner of the scarf high above your head.Let it go! Watch it float down slowly like a feather.Move your feet to get your body right under it.Open your hands like a big basket and gently catch it. Great job!

Example 2 — Toss and Catch
Ready for a little toss? You can do it!Hold the whole scarf bunched up in one hand.Gently toss it up in front of you, not too high.Keep your eyes on the scarf the whole time! This is called tracking.Make a 'basket' with both hands and let the scarf land softly in it.
