Comparing Qualities (Using Adjectives) Thing 1 + Verb (ser) + más/menos + Adjective + que + Thing 2 Use this formula to say that one thing has more or less of a quality than another. 'Ser' is the verb 'to be'. Remember to match the verb 'ser' (e.g., 'es' for one thing, 'son' for many) with the first thing. Comparing Quantities (Using Nouns) Verb (tener) + más/menos + Noun + que + Person/Thing Use this formula when you are comparing the number of items someone has. 'Tener' is the verb 'to have'.
