The Magic of 'Uno'
uno -> un / una
When the number 'one' comes before a noun, it changes. Use 'un' before a masculine noun (like 'perro') and 'una' before a feminine noun (like 'mesa'). The 'o' in 'uno' magically disappears before a masculine noun!
The Age Spell: 'Tener'
Subject + tener (conjugated) + number + años.
In Spanish, you don't 'are' an age, you 'have' an age. Always use the verb 'tener' (to have), not 'ser' or 'estar', when talking about how old someone is.
