The 'Estar' for Feelings Rule
Use 'estar' to talk about how you feel right now.
Feelings can change! You might be happy now but tired later. 'Estar' is the perfect verb for these changing feelings. Think of 'estar' for temporary states.
The 'Yo' and 'Tú' Forms
Yo (I) ➡️ estoy | Tú (You) ➡️ estás
When you talk about yourself ('yo'), you always use 'estoy'. When you ask a friend ('tú'), you use 'estás'. The 's' on the end of 'estás' is for the 'second' person (you!).
