The 'Tener' for Age Formula
Subject + form of 'tener' + number + 'años'.
To state an age in Spanish, you always use the verb 'tener' (to have), not 'ser' (to be). You are not your age, you HAVE your age. Remember to always include the word 'años' at the end.
Key 'Tener' Forms for Family
Yo tengo... (I have...) / Tú tienes... (You have...) / Él o Ella tiene... (He or She has...)
You must change the ending of the verb 'tener' depending on who you are talking about. Use 'tengo' for yourself, 'tienes' for a friend you are talking to, and 'tiene' for one other person like your mom or brother.
