The 'Tener' for Age Formula Subject + form of 'tener' + number + 'años'. To state an age in Spanish, you always use the verb 'tener' (to have), not 'ser' (to be). You are not your age, you HAVE your age. Remember to always include the word 'años' at the end. Key 'Tener' Forms for Family Yo tengo... (I have...) / Tú tienes... (You have...) / Él o Ella tiene...
