Grammar Rules & Patterns
Present Tense of -AR Verbs (Yo / Nosotros)
For 'yo' (I), take off the -AR and add -O. For 'nosotros' (we), take off the -AR and add -AMOS.
Use this rule when you want to say that 'I' or 'we' are doing an action right now. For example, to say 'I plant', you change 'plantar' to 'planto'.
Adjective Agreement (Gender)
Nouns ending in -o are usually masculine (use adjectives ending in -o). Nouns ending in -a are usually feminine (use adjectives ending in -a).
Adjectives are words that describe nouns. In Spanish, they must match the noun's gender. For example, 'planeta' is masculine, so we say 'planeta limpio'. 'Tierra' is feminine, so we say 'Tierra limpia'.
