Finding the Verb Stem Infinitive Verb - '-ir' = Stem To start conjugating, first find the infinitive verb. Then, take away the last two letters, '-ir', to find the stem. The stem is the part that usually stays the same. Present Tense -IR Endings Yo: -o | Tú: -es | Él/Ella/Usted: -e | Nosotros/Nosotras: -imos | Vosotros/Vosotras: -ís | Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes: -en After you find the stem, add the correct new ending based on the pronoun (who is doing the action).
