Boy Words (el) and Girl Words (la) Some words use 'el' and some use 'la'. In Spanish, all objects are 'boys' or 'girls'. We use 'el' for boy words and 'la' for girl words. You have to remember which one to use! Example: el sofá (boy), la silla (girl). More Than One! (Plurals) Add an -s to talk about more than one thing. If you have one chair, you say 'una silla'.
