Grammar Rules & Patterns

Using 'El' and 'La' for 'The' Use 'la' for words that end in -a. Use 'el' for words that end in -o. In Spanish, all things are 'boys' (el) or 'girls' (la). It helps us know how to talk about them. Think of 'la' as 🩷 and 'el' as 💙. Making Plurals: Adding -s To talk about more than one thing, add an 's' at the end. If you have one window (ventana), you have two 'ventanas'. Just add 's' to make it plural, like in English! Describing with Colors The color word comes AFTER the thing. Thing + Color. To say 'the red door', you say 'la puerta roja'. The thing (puerta) is the star of the show, so it comes first! ⭐
