What & Why
Dribbling, striking, and volleying are three amazing skills you use in lots of sports. Let's see what they are:Dribbling: Tapping a ball continuously, like with your hands in basketball or your feet in soccer.Striking: Hitting a ball with a single, strong contact, like kicking a soccer ball or hitting a ball in four square.Volleying: Tapping a ball upward, usually before it hits the ground, like in volleyball.Combining these skills helps you think fast, move your body in new ways, and have more fun playing games with friends!

Example 1 — Soccer Relay
This game mixes dribbling and striking. You'll need a soccer ball (or a similar bouncy ball) and a cone for each team.Step 1: Dribble! The first person in line dribbles the soccer ball with their feet around a cone a short distance away. Remember to use gentle taps!Step 2: Strike! After dribbling back to the starting line, the player strikes the ball to pass it to the next person in line.Step 3: Go! The next person catches the ball with their feet and starts dribbling. The first team to have everyone finish wins!

Example 2 — Volleyball Keep-Up
This is a teamwork game all about volleying. You'll need a soft ball, like a beach ball or a soft volleyball.Step 1: Start the Volley. In a small group of 3-4 people, one person tosses the ball into the air and volleys it straight up.Step 2: Keep it Up! The goal is for everyone to work together to keep the ball from touching the ground. Take turns volleying the ball to each other or straight up.Step 3: Count Your Hits. See how many times your group can volley the ball in a row. Try to beat your own record!
