What & Why

A target game is any game where the main goal is to throw, slide, or strike an object to hit a specific target or get it as close as possible. Think of games like bowling, darts, or even tossing a wadded-up piece of paper into a trash can!Playing these games is important because they help improve your hand-eye coordination (making your hands and eyes work together), your ability to focus, and your patience.

Example 1 — Beanbag Toss

Let's play a simple beanbag toss game!Set up: Place a bucket, laundry basket, or a hula hoop on the ground. This is your target.Get ready: Stand a few big steps away from the target. Hold the beanbag in the hand you write with.Aim: Look right at the center of your target. Don't look at your hand or the beanbag.Toss: Swing your arm back gently and then forward in an underhand motion, like you're scooping something.Release: Let go of the beanbag when your hand is pointing towards the target.Celebrate: See how close you got. Then try again!
