What & Why
Striking with an implement means hitting an object (like a ball or shuttlecock) with a tool (like a paddle or racket) instead of your hands or feet. Learning this skill is super important because it helps you play many exciting sports! It also helps build your hand-eye coordination, which is how your eyes and hands work together as a team to do things like catch a ball, write your name, or build with blocks.

Example 1 — Balloon Keep-Up
This is a great way to practice control in a slow, fun way.Find an open space and grab a balloon and a lightweight paddle (or even a hardcover book).Toss the balloon into the air.Using the flat face of your paddle, gently tap the balloon upwards to keep it from touching the floor.Focus on soft taps, not big swings.Count how many times you can hit it in a row. Try to beat your own score!

Example 2 — Forehand Strike against a Wall
Now let's practice a real sports move with a soft ball.Stand a few steps away from a clear, safe wall. Use a foam or tennis ball.Hold your paddle with your dominant hand (the one you write with). This is the forehand side.Turn your body so your other shoulder points toward the wall. This is the 'Side to the Target' position.Toss the ball gently in front of you.As it bounces, swing your paddle forward and strike the ball. Keep your eyes on the ball the whole time!Try to hit it back to yourself after it bounces off the wall.
