Using Direct Object Pronouns (DOPs) for Food
lo (masculine, singular), la (feminine, singular), los (masculine, plural), las (feminine, plural)
To avoid repeating the name of a food item, replace it with a DOP that matches its gender and number. The DOP is placed directly BEFORE the conjugated verb. Example: '¿Quieres el pollo?' -> 'Sí, lo quiero.'
Preterite Tense: Regular -AR Verbs
yo: -é, tú: -aste, él/ella/Ud.: -ó, nosotros: -amos, ellos/ellas/Uds.: -aron
Use the preterite tense to talk about completed actions in the past. To form it, remove the -ar from the infinitive and add the correct ending for the subject. Example: 'Ayer, yo ordené (ordenar) los tacos.'
