The 'Veinti-' Single-Word Rule (21-29) veinte + (número 1-9) = veinti(número) For numbers from 21 to 29, combine 'veinte' and the single digit into one word. The 'e' in 'veinte' changes to an 'i'. Remember to add accent marks on veintidós, veintitrés, and veintiséis. The 'Decena y Unidad' Three-Word Rule (31-50) Decena + 'y' + Unidad For numbers from 31 to 50 (and beyond), use three separate words. Start with the ten (treinta, cuarenta), add the word 'y' (and), and then add the single digit (uno, dos, tres, etc.).
