Imperfect Tense: Regular -AR Verb Endings
Stem + [-aba, -abas, -aba, -ábamos, -aban]
For any regular verb ending in -ar, remove the -ar and add the correct ending based on the subject. For example, 'cantar' becomes 'yo cantaba', 'tú cantabas', 'él/ella/usted cantaba', 'nosotros cantábamos', 'ellos/ellas/ustedes cantaban'.
Imperfect Tense: Regular -ER and -IR Verb Endings
Stem + [-ía, -ías, -ía, -íamos, -ían]
For any regular verb ending in -er or -ir, remove the ending and add the correct new ending. Notice that all these endings have an accent on the 'i'. For example, 'comer' becomes 'yo comía' and 'vivir' becomes 'yo vivía'.
