Grammar Rules & Patterns

Present Tense -AR Verb Endings Yo -> -o | Tú -> -as | Él/Ella/Usted -> -a To conjugate a regular -AR verb, first drop the -AR from the end. Then, add the new ending that matches the person doing the action. Adjective Agreement (Gender) Masculine Noun + Adjective ending in -o | Feminine Noun + Adjective ending in -a If a noun is masculine (like 'el plátano'), its describing word should also be masculine ('amarillo'). If a noun is feminine ('la manzana'), its describing word should be feminine ('roja').
