Grammar Rules & Patterns

The Unique Five (11-15) once (11), doce (12), trece (13), catorce (14), quince (15) These first five numbers after ten have their own special, one-word names. You just have to memorize them, like you did for numbers 1-10. They don't follow a pattern. The 'Dieci-' Formula (16-19) dieci + (número 6-9) = diecinúmero For numbers 16 through 19, you combine 'diez' (ten) and the next number. It squishes together to make one word. For example, 'diez y seis' becomes 'dieciséis'. Remember to add an accent on the 'e' for dieciséis!
