Asking What Day It Is ¿Qué día es hoy? This is the main question you use to ask 'What day is today?'. The word order does not change. Answering What Day It Is Hoy es [día de la semana]. To answer the question, you always start with 'Hoy es' (Today is) and then say the day. For example, 'Hoy es lunes.' No Capital Letters lunes, martes, miércoles, jueves, viernes, sábado, domingo Unlike English, the days of the week in Spanish are not capitalized unless they are at the very beginning of a sentence.
