Grammar Rules & Patterns

Using the Verb 'Ir' (to go) Yo voy (I go) / Tú vas (You go) / Él/Ella va (He/She goes) The verb 'ir' is irregular, so it doesn't follow the normal -AR verb pattern. We use 'voy' when talking about ourselves, 'vas' when talking to a friend, and 'va' when talking about someone else. The 'en' Rule for Transportation voy/vas/va + en + [mode of transportation] To say you go *by* a certain vehicle, you use the word 'en' before the vehicle. Think of 'en' as meaning 'in' or 'on'.
