The Real Talk

Think of your time like a bag of marbles you get every morning. Each thing you do—eating breakfast, going to school, playing a game—costs a few marbles. Once a marble is spent, you can never get it back. This is why time is more valuable than money. You can always earn more money, but you can never get more time.Everyone gets 168 hours a week. Let's see where it goes:About 60 hours for sleeping.About 35 hours for school. That leaves over 70 hours for everything else. That's a lot of time.Have you ever noticed how a fun day with friends feels super short, but a boring class feels like it lasts forever? That’s called time perception. Time seems to speed up when you're having fun and slow down when you're bored. Knowing this helps you see where your time is really going.

The Story

Diego is 11 and loves his guitar, but he complained he never had time to practice. His older sister suggested an experiment. For one week, he wrote down everything he did after school. Diego was shocked by what he found. He spent almost two hours every day watching random videos online, and he didn't even enjoy most of them. The next day, he decided to use just 20 minutes of that video time to practice his guitar instead. After a week, he had learned a whole new song. Diego realized he had the time all along, he just wasn't paying attention to where it went.
