Key Rules & Conventions
The Period Rule .
Use a period (.) at the end of a statement or a command.
A period is a little dot that tells you to stop. Use it for telling and bossy sentences.
The Question Mark Rule ?
Use a question mark (?) at the end of a question.
A question mark looks like a hook. Use it when you are asking something.
The Exclamation Point Rule !
Use an exclamation point (!) at the end of an exclamation.
An exclamation point is a line with a dot. Use it for sentences with big feelings!
The Capital Letter Rule
Every sentence must start with a capital letter.
The first letter of the first word in a sentence is always a big letter.
