What & Why
A cool-down is what we do after being very active to help our body slow down gently. Think of it like parking a car slowly instead of slamming on the brakes! Why do we do it? It helps our muscles feel less sore later, lets our fast-beating heart return to normal slowly, and makes our whole body feel calm and relaxed.

Example 1 — The Slow Turtle Stretch
This stretch helps your legs and back relax.Sit on the floor with your legs open in a 'V' shape.Pretend you are a turtle slowly tucking into its shell.Gently reach toward one foot. Hold it for 10 slow counts. Don't bounce!Slowly come back up and reach for the other foot. Hold for 10 slow counts.Remember to breathe slowly and calmly the whole time.

Example 2 — The Sleepy Starfish
This move helps your whole body and mind calm down.Find a comfy spot on the floor and lie on your back.Spread your arms and legs out wide, just like a starfish resting in the sand.Close your eyes if you feel comfortable.Take a big, slow breath in through your nose, and let it out slowly through your mouth.Stay still and quiet for 10 slow breaths. Feel your body getting heavy and relaxed.
