The verb 'ir' (to go) is one of the most special verbs. It doesn't follow any pattern and you just have to memorize its forms. We use it with 'a' to say where we are going, like 'Voy a la tienda'.
La Regla 'Yo-Go'
For some irregular -IR verbs, the 'yo' form ends in '-go'.
Verbs like 'decir', 'venir', and 'salir' are special. In the 'yo' form, you drop the -ir and add '-go'. For example, 'decir' becomes 'digo', 'venir' becomes 'vengo', and 'salir' becomes 'salgo'.
