Pronoun Placement Rule Direct Object Pronoun + Conjugated Verb In Spanish, the direct object pronoun (lo, la, los, las) almost always goes right BEFORE the main verb. It's the opposite of English where we say 'I see it'. Gender & Number Matching Rule Noun (el, la, los, las) → Pronoun (lo, la, los, las) The pronoun you choose must match the gender (masculine/feminine) and number (singular/plural) of the noun it is replacing. If the noun is 'la manzana', you must use 'la'.
