The Placement Rule Pronoun + Verb The direct object pronoun ALWAYS goes right BEFORE the main verb (the action word). The Matching Rule Noun ↔ Pronoun (Match Gender & Number) The pronoun you choose must match the noun it's replacing. If the noun is masculine and plural (like 'los libros'), the pronoun must also be masculine and plural ('los').
