The 'Hace + Noun' Weather Formula Hace + [weather noun] In Spanish, we describe many types of weather by using the word 'Hace' followed by a noun (a thing). Since 'viento' (wind) is a noun, we say 'Hace viento.' We do not say 'Es ventoso' like we say 'It is windy' in English.
