The Exclusive Club of Three
In the entire Spanish imperfect tense, only three verbs are irregular: SER, IR, and VER.
This is the most important rule. If the verb is not ser, ir, or ver, it will be conjugated regularly in the imperfect. Memorize these three, and you have mastered all imperfect irregulars.
Conjugation Pattern: SER (to be)
yo era, tú eras, él/ella/Ud. era, nosotros/as éramos, vosotros/as erais, ellos/ellas/Uds. eran
Use the imperfect of 'ser' to describe what someone or something was like (characteristics, identity, profession) over a period of time in the past. Notice the 'nosotros' form has an accent.
