Grammar Rules & Patterns
Saying 'I like' 👍
Me gusta + la/el + [food name]
To say you like something, always start with 'Me gusta'. Then add 'la' or 'el' and the food word.
Saying 'I don't like' 👎
No me gusta + la/el + [food name]
To say you don't like something, just add 'No' in front of 'Me gusta'.
Using 'La' and 'El' (The)
Use 'la' for girl words. Use 'el' for boy words.
In Spanish, all things are 'girls' or 'boys'. Many girl words end in '-a' like 'manzana'. We use 'la' for them. We use 'el' for boy words like 'plátano'.
