Core Formulas
Unit Price Formula
$\text{Unit Price} = \frac{\text{Total Cost}}{\text{Quantity}}$
This formula is used to find the cost per single unit. Ensure the quantity is in the desired unit before dividing.
Unit Conversion using Multiplication
$\text{Quantity in New Unit} = \text{Quantity in Old Unit} \times \frac{\text{Value in New Unit}}{\text{Value in Old Unit}}$
To convert a quantity from one unit to another, multiply the original quantity by a conversion factor. The 'Old Unit' should cancel out, leaving the 'New Unit'.
Unit Conversion using Proportions
$\frac{\text{Known Old Unit Value}}{\text{Known New Unit Value}} = \frac{\text{Given Old Unit Quantity}}{\text{Unknown New Unit Quantity (x)}}$
Set up a proportion with known equivalent values on one si...
