The Addend and Sum Formula Addend + Addend = Sum This is the math way to say it. The numbers you add are addends, and the answer is the sum. Order Doesn't Matter (Commutative Property) a + b = b + a You can switch the addends around, and the sum will stay the same! 25 + 10 is the same as 10 + 25.
