The Hook

Have you ever finished a snack at the park and the trash can felt super far away? You see a few other wrappers on the ground and think, 'What's one more?' It turns out, that one little thought is how beautiful places get messy, fast. Your actions in a shared space are more powerful than you think.

The Story

Mia, who is 9, was at the park with her family. She finished her juice box and saw the trash can was all the way across the field. She also saw a few chip bags already on the grass near the bench. She pictured what the park would look like if every single person who visited that day left their juice box behind. The image in her head was gross. She sighed and walked all the way to the trash can. As she threw her juice box in, she saw a plastic bottle right next to the can. She picked that up and put it in, too. Mia realized that the thought 'it's just one thing' is the exact thought that ruins a place for everyone.
