The 'Y' to 'I' Spelling Rule
If the base word ends in 'y', change the 'y' to an 'i' before adding -ful.
This is a common spelling rule in English. For a word like 'beauty', you must change the 'y' to 'i' to correctly spell 'beautiful'.
