The Regular Verb '-ed' Rule
Present Tense Verb + '-ed' = Past Tense Verb
For most verbs, we just add '-ed' to show that the action happened in the past. For example, 'jump' becomes 'jumped' and 'play' becomes 'played'.
The Irregular Verb 'No Rule' Rule
Irregular verbs do not follow the '-ed' rule. They have a special past tense form that you have to remember.
These verbs are tricky because they change their spelling completely. For example, 'see' becomes 'saw' and 'eat' becomes 'ate'. You can't guess these, so we practice them to learn them by heart.
