Key Rules & Conventions
Number Word First Rule
Number Word + Noun
The number word always comes right before the noun it is describing. We say 'two cats', not 'cats two'.
Match the Count Rule
The number word must match the number of things.
If you see ππ, you must use the word 'two'. If you see πππ, you must use the word 'three'.
The Plural 's' Rule
Use an 's' for more than one.
If the number is bigger than one, the noun usually needs an 's' at the end. We say 'one dog' but '**two** dog**s**'.
