The '-er' Rule
Adjective + er
To compare two things, we add '-er' to the end of most short adjectives. For example, 'tall' becomes 'taller'.
The 'than' Rule
Use the word 'than' after the adjective.
After you use your '-er' word, use the word 'than' to connect the two things you are comparing. For example, 'taller than'.
The Sentence Rule
Thing 1 + is + adjective-er + than + Thing 2.
