Key Rules & Conventions

The '-er' Rule Adjective + er To compare two things, we add '-er' to the end of most short adjectives. For example, 'tall' becomes 'taller'. The 'than' Rule Use the word 'than' after the adjective. After you use your '-er' word, use the word 'than' to connect the two things you are comparing. For example, 'taller than'. The Sentence Rule Thing 1 + is + adjective-er + than + Thing 2. Put it all together to make a super sentence! Example: The sun is brighter than the moon. ☀️ > 🌙
