Introduction & Learning Objectives

Learning Objectives Identify an object as 'heavy' or 'light'. Compare two objects to find the heavier one. Compare two objects to find the lighter one. Use the words 'heavier than' and 'lighter than'. Sort three objects from lightest to heaviest. Use a mouse to drag and drop objects based on weight. Can you lift a big elephant 🐘? What about a tiny feather ðŸŠķ? Today, we will learn about heavy and light. We will tell the computer which is which. This helps the computer understand our world. Real-World Applications Putting heavy books on the bottom shelf Knowing you can lift your toy car but not a real car Packing a backpack with light things on top Playing on a seesaw with a friend

CompareTo look at two things and see how they are different.Let's compare an apple 🍎 and a strawberry 🍓. Heavier ThanWhen one thing weighs more than another.A pumpkin 🎃 is heavier than an apple 🍎. Lighter ThanWhen one thing weighs less than another.A leaf 🍂 is lighter than a tree ðŸŒģ. SortTo put things in an order, like from lightest to heaviest.Sort the feather, the ball, then the rock.

Core Syntax & Patterns

The Seesaw Rule (IF-THEN) IF an object is heavier, THEN it makes the seesaw go down. Use this rule to decide which of two things is heavier. The Lifting Rule (IF-THEN) IF an object is easy to pick up, THEN it is light. Use this rule to decide if something is light or heavy by itself. The Sorting Order Rule Find the lightest first. Then find the next lightest. Follow this pattern to put a group of items in order by weight.
