Subjunctive with Verbs of Emotion and Desire (WEIRDO)
Verb 1 (Indicative) + 'que' + Verb 2 (Subjunctive)
Use this structure when the main clause expresses a Wish, Emotion, Impersonal expression, Recommendation, Doubt, or Ojalá, and there is a change of subject. For cats, this is perfect for expressing feelings about them. Example: 'Me alegra que mi gato juegue' (It makes me happy that my cat plays).
Conjunctions for Complex Sentences
Independent Clause + Conjunction + Dependent Clause
Use conjunctions to connect ideas. 'Aunque' (although/even though) shows contrast. 'Para que' (so that) shows purpose and requires the subjunctive. 'Mientras' (while) shows simultaneous action. Example: 'Le doy un premio a mi gato para que...
