Forming the Present Subjunctive
1. Start with the 'yo' form of the present indicative (e.g., hablar -> hablo). 2. Drop the '-o' (habl-). 3. Add the opposite vowel endings: '-e, -es, -e, -emos, -éis, -en' for -AR verbs, and '-a, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, -an' for -ER/-IR verbs.
Use this formula for regular verbs and many irregular verbs to conjugate into the present subjunctive. This mood is required after expressions of will, influence, emotion, doubt, or impersonality (WEIRDO).
