The 'Alegrarse de que' + Subjunctive Formula
[Subject 1] + [form of alegrarse] + de que + [Subject 2] + [Verb in Present Subjunctive]
Use this structure when the person feeling happy (Subject 1) is different from the person or thing causing the happiness (Subject 2). The verb in the second clause must be in the subjunctive.

Use this structure when the person feeling happy is happy about their own action. Because there is no change of subject, you do not use 'que' and the second verb remains in its infinitive form.
Present Subjunctive Formation (Regular Verbs)
