Using "Necesitar" (To Need)
"Necesitar" is a regular -AR verb that is conjugated according to the subject. It is followed by a noun or an infinitive verb.
Use "necesitar" to express a direct need for a specific item or to perform an action. It functions similarly to 'to need' in English.
Examples in Grade 8 tenses:
- Present: Yo necesito un libro. (I need a book.)
- Preterite: Ayer necesité ayuda. (Yesterday I needed help.)
- Imperfect: Cuando era niño, necesitaba un juguete nuevo cada mes. (When I was a child, I needed a new toy every month.)
