Finding the Verb Stem Infinitivo - AR = Raíz To start conjugating any regular -AR verb, you must first find its stem. You do this by simply dropping the final -AR from the infinitive form. Preterite Endings for -AR Verbs yo: -é, tú: -aste, él/ella/usted: -ó, nosotros: -amos, ellos/ellas/ustedes: -aron Once you have the stem, add the correct preterite ending to match the subject (the person or people doing the action).
